10 years ago I started with Fly Fishing. The passion for fly fishing started in the ardenne (Belgium). There I saw people throwing lines on the surface of the water.
First i started this website in Dutch. But visitors from around the world questioned me if it was possible to change the website in English and to make a page "Who are you". I changed that with "About me".
This website is located in the Netherlands (Europe). My name is Peter and i live in a village close to Enkhuizen in the province of North Holland. I am a qualified gardener (1988) and I work in the same village as where I live. My work is maintenance of the public green. Tree maintenance (safety), pruning with the chain saw.
I am trained and experienced to recognize tree problems.

What we do in Holland is fly fishing for coarse fish and saltwater fish.
The most nearby river for me is the IJssel (Kampen), 75 km from my village and the shore 70 km.
The species for freshwater are; Ide, Rudd, Roach, White bream, Common bream, Asp, European perch, Pike-perch and Northern pike.
The species from the shore are; Atlantic mackerel, Twaite shad, European seabass, Garpike and Flounder.
Sometimes i go to a trout pond to catch a few Rainbow's.
When on holiday in Belgium or Luxembourg i flyfish for Brown trout, Rainbow trout, European chub, Common dace, Grayling, Barbel and Spirlin.

This website comes from the Netherlands. A country where fly fishing is growing and growing. The Netherlands has many different possibilities where you can fly fish. From the North Sea shore you can catch Sea bass, Atlantic mackerel, garpike, Twaite shad, Sea trout (rare), Flounder and European plaice. These fish species are caught with fly fishing that i know. About Flathead mullet (rare?), Whiting, Atlantic cod, Saithe and Pollack are species i do not know if they are ever caught with a fly fishing rod in the Netherlands. We need more pioneers. About the two big freshwater lakes in the center of the Netherlands. The names of the lakes are "IJsselmeer" and "Markermeer". "Meer" stands for lake. The species are Roach, Ide, European perch, Common bream, White bream, Asp, Flounder, Common carp, Flathead mullet (rare?), Pike-perch and Northern pike. Fly fishing for Flathead mullet is quite hard and difficult. Most are accidently caught. A specie who needs more exploration on feeding and which fly to use.
